Happy New Year!

A new year brings both excitement and anxiety, as we start anew with wonderful aspirations for our career. Yet worry often intrudes on that dream the very next second. We ask, “how am I going to do this? I’m too busy, it’s too hard, it’s too difficult.” This emotional mix is exactly the way it’s supposed to happen. But the critical voice often stops our forward momentum.

Over a decade, I’ve seen talented individuals not achieve their aspirations, not for a lack of talent, but because of 3 key things:

  1. Undervaluing their talent and contributions
  2. Doubting if they should “ask” for what they deserve
  3. Unsure how to influence the “recognition system” in their workplace so they can get what they deserve

This is particularly true for women and persons of difference (race / culture / immigrants). But this I know for sure:

Once we know our best self and know how to play the career advancement game, we’re unstoppable!

Thus, I’ve developed this 5-session career advancement series to address critical areas for career advancement. The group is intentionally small, limited to only 8 persons, so we can go deeper. Extroverts and introverts alike can take part in the discussion and sharing!
